Located just 48 miles off the coast of Miami, Bimini is the closest Bahamas island to the United States, with its two main islands, North Bimini Island and South Bimini Island surrounded by numerous cays. It is famous for its perfect white beaches, shipwrecks from prohibition days, and as the summer home of Ernest Hemingway.

Now a new eco-designed resort is headed to Bimini with the exclusive announcement of illa Bimini Resort & Residences. Designed by Island Developers and Oppenheim Architecture + Design as well as landscape architect Raymond Jungles, the beachfront resort is set to break ground next month and will feature residential villas as well as a five-star boutique hotel.
