AZURE MAGAZINE features Miami Beach restaurant Forte dei Marmi

September 2018 A Miami Eatery Inspired by Breezy Italian Beach Culture, By: Mark Teo “For his latest venture in Florida, star chef Antonio Mellino wanted to try something different. Located in Miami Beach – a district best-known for, as Vogue put it, hotel restaurants, Pitbull and the omnipresent oontz-oontz blaring from car speakers – Forte dei Marmi is an attempt to transport diners to Italy’s balmy Amalfi Coast. To achieve this feat, Mellino leaned on two things: his cuisine, quite […]

VENICE MAGAZINE profiles Oppenheim Architecture founder, Chad Oppenheim

Summer 2018 Young And Restless, By: Robin Hodes, Portrait by: Felipe Cuevas “Chad Oppenheim is scrolling nonchalantly through projects on his laptop, each image more mind-blowing than the next. The Miami Beach-based international architect, who’s about 25 years into a career legendary enough to rival those of the masters who precede him, could easily rest on his laurels… but doesn’t. His work is groundbreaking, transformative and, some have said, astounding. Large-scale urban architecture, luxury homes, hotels, resorts and master-planned communities—such as […]

THE REAL DEAL – Oppenheim Architecture’s “Spirit of Place” explores new terrain for design

18 July 2018 By: Kathryn Brenzel “Not every architect would choose to express his work through a haiku about dunes. But Oppenheim Architecture’s new book ‘Spirit of Place’ does just that — along with 17-syllable meditations on the desert, sea, peninsulas, canyons, rivers and streams. ‘I really appreciated the simplicity and elegance of reducing things down to their essence,’ Chad Oppenheim, principal of his eponymous firm, told The Real Deal. ‘The haiku is saying more with less.’ This is a […]

THE BIG BUBBLE MIAMI – Miami Architect Chad Oppenheim’s New Book Celebrates His Ideas About Minimalism

18 July 2018 By: Sean McCaughan “Miami-based architect Chad Oppenheim has designed work around the world. Oppenheim’s new book portrays his work as minimalist to the extreme. . . . It is a level of minimalist luxury that celebrates the place almost to the reduction of the building itself. Oppenheim’s works are like mirrors. They would disappear into the landscape if it were not for his use of long, straight lines that often makes the building stand out against it.” […]

MODERN LUXURY explores “Mountain Moments” at La Muna

02 July 2018 Mountain Moments, By: Linda Hayes “Architect Chad Oppenheim gets a kick out of the fact that visitors to his Red Mountain home sometimes have to search for the unassuming front door, not to mention for the home itself, which is invisible from the road and accessed by descending a set of simple wood stairs. ‘For me, it’s about the experience,’ he says.  ‘A house should disappear into the setting. It’s not really about how it looks, but […]
